It is a small part with a disproportionate effect on how long an outdoor door station lasts: most stations are rated IP65, which covers driven rain, but a shield keeps the majority of the water off the seals in the first place rather than relying on them.

Key Details

Keeps water off the panel — A door station's weak points are its microphone port, its card reader window and the seam around its buttons. A shield stops rain running down the wall and across all three, which is where most water ingress on an outdoor station actually starts.

Protects the camera image — It also shades the lens. Droplets sitting on the cover glass turn a caller into a blur, and direct low sun straight into the lens washes the picture out entirely — a hood fixes both.

SECC steel and polycarbonate construction — Formed in SECC steel and polycarbonate, matched to the station's own finish so the assembly still looks deliberate rather than patched.

Sized for a single module — Made for the KV8113 series and KV8X13-WME1 villa door stations. The shield has to match the panel width exactly or it either leaves an edge exposed or fouls the buttons.

Dimensions — 189 × 97 × 49 mm, rated −40°C to 60°C at 10–95% humidity.

Where It Fits

Fit one to any door station that is not already under a decent eave or porch roof. It is inexpensive, it takes minutes at install time, and replacing a water-damaged door station costs many times more. On a west or weather-facing entrance, treat it as required rather than optional.

Specifications

Model

DS-KABV8113-RS (Surface Mount)

Type

Rain shield for villa door station

Compatibility

KV8113 series / KV8X13-WME1

Material

SECC / PC

Operating Temperature

-40 to 60 °C

Operating Humidity

10–95%

Dimensions

189 × 97 × 49 mm

Assurance

3-Year Australian Warranty

Genuine Hikvision stock, supplied and supported locally

Australian-based technical support before and after purchase

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0693/0182/9703/files/hikvision-ds-kabv8113-rs-g2-rain-shield-surface-mount-1.webp?v=1786285396
