Description
Two-Wire Door Entry on Akuvox's SIP Platform
A complete two-wire intercom pairing the R20A-2 door station with the C313W-2 indoor monitor. The two-wire part matters on a retrofit: the door station and the monitor share a single non-polar pair, so an existing bell wire or an old analogue intercom run can usually be reused rather than replaced. Akuvox builds on open SIP, which means this can stay a standalone door entry system or be absorbed into a larger phone or intercom platform later.
What’s in the Kit
| 1 × Door station | R20A-2 — outdoor call panel with camera, single call button and integrated card reader |
| 1 × Indoor monitor | C313W-2 — colour touchscreen answering station for inside the property |
What Makes This Kit
- Reuses two-core cable — Non-polar two-wire connection between the door station and the monitor, so most existing intercom or doorbell cabling can carry the new system without a re-run.
- Open SIP under the hood — Akuvox devices speak standard SIP rather than a closed protocol, so the kit can integrate with a compatible phone system or a larger multi-tenant setup instead of being locked to one app.
- Card access at the door — The R20A-2 includes a proximity reader, so residents can enter with a fob or card and only visitors ever need to press the button.
- Two-way audio and video — Answer the door and see who is there from the indoor monitor, with a remote release for the door strike or gate.
- Straightforward one-to-one setup — A single entrance and a single answering point — the most common residential arrangement, supplied as a matched pair rather than assembled from parts.
Where It Fits
Suited to a house, unit or small office with one entrance, and particularly to a retrofit where running new cable would mean lifting floors or chasing walls. If you are replacing a dead analogue intercom and the original two-core run is still intact, this is the least disruptive way to bring the entrance back into service with video and card access.
