Bosch CM439B — USB Desktop Smartcard Reader for Enrolling Cards

A desktop USB reader for registering smart cards into a Solution 6000 or Solution 144 system. It plugs into the PC running Solution Link Site Manager and reads a card's number directly, so enrolment does not mean walking to a door reader with each card and reading numbers off the panel.

Key Details

• Enrol from the desk — Register cards at the PC running Site Manager instead of at a door reader, which is the difference between minutes and an afternoon for a big batch.
• USB powered — 5V from the PC — no separate supply or bus connection.
• Works with Solution Link Site Manager — Reads directly into the software that administers the panel's user database.
• Smartcards only — Reads smart cards; it does not enrol wireless key fobs.
• Desktop housing — Sits on the administrator's desk rather than needing mounting.

Where It Fits

Any Solution 6000 site where cards are issued and revoked regularly — a workplace with staff turnover, a building with contractors. On a system with a handful of permanent cards it is hard to justify; past twenty or so it pays for itself quickly.
