Bosch RFGB RADION — Wireless Acoustic Glass Break Detector
Catches a break-in at the window rather than after the intruder is inside. The RFGB listens for the two-stage acoustic signature of breaking glass — the thud of impact followed by the shatter — and reports over 433 MHz to a B810 or RFRC-STR2 receiver. It runs on a single CR123A cell and mounts on a wall or ceiling facing the glazing.
Key Details
- Two-stage acoustic analysis — Requires both the impact thud and the shatter frequency, so a dropped plate or a slammed door does not set it off.
- Protects the opening, not the room — Alarms as the glass goes rather than when someone crosses a PIR pattern, which buys real time on a monitored system.
- Wireless install — No cable to the window wall — useful in rooms where the glazing is nowhere near the panel.
- Self-locking enclosure — A sliding self-locking housing that resists casual opening and reports tamper if forced.
- Wall or ceiling mount — Site it opposite or above the glass it protects, whichever the room geometry allows.
Where It Fits
Rooms with large or accessible glazing — sliding doors, shopfronts, ground-floor windows — and particularly holiday homes and offices left empty for long stretches, where detecting the entry itself matters more than tracking movement afterwards.
