DarkFighter 2.0 — The Imaging Engine on This Camera
DarkFighter 2.0 is the marquee imaging technology across the Gen-2 DeepinView Series. It folds AI Image Signal Processing (ISP), high-frame-rate capture, ShotN motion-tracking and Auto Wide Dynamic Range into one sensor pipeline — the same imaging chain that drives this iDS-2CD7146G2-IZS.
What DeepinView G2 Brings Over Consumer / Pro Series Cameras
DeepinView exists for sites that require on-camera face recognition, high-frame-rate evidence capture and open-platform third-party AI. Where a site only needs human / vehicle motion filtering, a Pro Series turret with AcuSense will do the job. Where it needs to match faces against a watchlist, freeze fast-moving subjects (vehicles, sport, mining haul roads) or run a custom AI application on the camera itself, DeepinView is the right tier.
Face Capture — 120 Simultaneous
The DeepinView engine picks up as many as 120 faces simultaneously in frame, records up to 40 face pictures per frame and pushes up to 10 best-frame face pics per second to your VMS or NVR. That suits crowded entrances, transit stations, hotel lobbies, school gates and event venues.
Face Comparison — 150,000 Face DB
10 face libraries × 30,000 = 150,000 total faces, stored encrypted on the camera. Watchlist matching happens at the camera, so it keeps working even when the VMS is offline — enterprise-scale identity verification with no separate face server.
DarkFighter 2.0 + 150 dB AWDR
An F1.2 lens, DarkFighter 2.0 sensor and HikAI-ISP noise reduction combined with 150 dB Auto WDR. It absorbs the toughest Australian lighting transitions — sunset behind a doorway, dock aprons under floodlight, gold-coast sun-on-glass foyers — without blowing out highlights or crushing shadow detail.
High Frame Rate — 60 fps @ 4MP / 120 fps @ 2MP
Freeze fast-moving subjects with no motion blur: vehicles entering carparks, sport, mining haul-truck traffic, courier deliveries, retail loss-prevention. ShotN technology keeps vehicles and people moving at different speeds sharp within the same frame.
HEOP — Hikvision Embedded Open Platform
Run third-party AI applications straight on the camera. Hikvision technology partners publish apps for specialised use cases — queue analytics, dwell time, bespoke retail analytics, industry-specific safety monitoring — that execute on-device without any external infrastructure.
TPM 2.0 (FIPS 140-2 Level 2)
Hardware-backed cyber security via TPM 2.0 to FIPS 140-2 Level 2. This is the wording government, council, school-campus, healthcare and corporate RFIs ask for, and a level Pro Series and EasyIP cameras do not claim.
Which Variant: Why the IZS (not IZHSY or /1T)
The iDS-2CD7146G2 family comes in several variants — IZ, IZS, IZHS, IZHSY, IZS/1T, IZHSY/1T — and those trailing suffix letters make a real difference. The IZS (2.8-12 mm) is the Australian default because it delivers the complete DeepinView G2 imaging chain and AI feature set without charging for niche-case extras that most Australian sites will never use.
iDS-2CD7146G2 — Variant Suffix Decoder
| Suffix | What it adds | When you need it |
|---|---|---|
| IZ | Motorised varifocal + IR — base configuration | Common starting point — but missing audio I/O most installs need |
| IZS (this model) | Adds audio I/O + built-in dual mic + speaker on top of the base IZ | What you want for most Australian commercial / hospitality / education installs — full audio, full AI, no niche add-ons |
| -H (IZHS) | Adds heater for cold-weather operation | Alpine / sub-zero sites only — extends operating-temp low from −30°C to −40°C. Not needed for any standard Australian site |
| -Y (IZHSY) | Adds NEMA 4X moderate anti-corrosion housing | Coastal Australian sites within ~2 km of the shoreline (Sydney Harbour, Wollongong, Gold Coast etc.) — important if your site is genuinely coastal |
| /1T (IZS/1T or IZHSY/1T) | Adds 1 TB built-in eMMC SSD storage | Sites where you need guaranteed local recording at the camera independent of the network — high-security or regulated retention. Most installs use microSD or NVR storage instead |
Where anti-corrosion is required (a coastal site within 2 km of the shoreline) or onboard 1 TB SSD storage is a must, the IZHSY or IZHSY/1T variant is the answer. For the overwhelming majority of Australian commercial, education, hospitality, council and body-corporate installs, the IZS is the right call.
DeepinView AI — Face Capture, Face Comparison, Perimeter Protection
Perimeter Protection
Line crossing, region entrance, intrusion and region exiting, each filtered by target type (human, vehicle) through on-camera deep learning. It suppresses roughly 90% of the nuisance alarms a traditional motion-only camera generates.
Multi-Target-Type Detection
Detection runs simultaneously across three target classes with detailed feature extraction: face, human body and vehicle. The searchable metadata flows into your NVR for quick post-incident review.
Face Capture & Quality Grading
Up to 120 simultaneous faces, 40 captures per frame and 10 best-frame uploads per second. An on-camera quality grader chooses the sharpest, best-angled shot out of the burst, so only a usable face frame reaches your VMS.
Face Comparison & Watchlists
10 encrypted face libraries × 30,000 faces = 150,000 total. Whether it is authorised-staff lists, watchlists, banned-customer lists or contractor-of-record lists, matching happens on the camera in real time.
ShotN High-Speed Motion Capture
Fast-moving vehicles and people stay sharp in single frames, free of the motion blur a 30 fps camera leaves across courier vans, security gate vehicles or mining haul trucks. Rates run to 4 MP @ 60 fps or 2 MP @ 120 fps.
HEOP Third-Party Apps
Through the Hikvision Embedded Open Platform, technology partners can push custom AI applications onto the camera — queue analytics, dwell time, retail conversion measurement, industrial safety monitoring — all running on-device with zero external compute.

Recording NVRs — Pair with an AcuSeek or DeepinMind AI NVR
This camera produces a wealth of AI metadata — face capture frames, face comparison results, multi-target classification, perimeter events and ShotN high-frame-rate clips. Extracting the full value of that metadata calls for a VPro AcuSeek or DeepinMind AI NVR, which index it and enable natural-language search across the recording ("show me all faces matching this watchlist entry between 4 pm and 6 pm yesterday"). A standard M-Series NVR will still record the stream, but the AI metadata will not appear in search.
DS-7608NXI-I2/8P/VPro — 8CH · AcuSeek AI
An eight-channel VPro AcuSeek AI NVR with 8 built-in PoE ports, sized for a single high-AI site with this camera at its centre plus perimeter coverage. It indexes face capture and multi-target detection metadata for natural-language AcuSeek search.
DS-7616NXI-I2/16P/VPro — 16CH · AcuSeek AI
Sixteen channels at full PoE, suited to a body-corporate site, school campus or hotel front-of-house running several face-capture cameras alongside general coverage, with AcuSeek metadata indexing across the whole fleet.
DS-7732NXI-I4/16P/VPro — 32CH · AcuSeek AI
Thirty-two channels with 16 PoE and 4 HDD bays — the standard mid-tier VPro AcuSeek platform for council CBD, port, mining, hospital and multi-building campus rollouts carrying several DeepinView cameras.
iDS-7716NXI-M4/16P/X — 16CH · DeepinMind
Hikvision's most capable 16-channel AI NVR — the DeepinMind X-Series, built for face-recognition workloads and AcuSearch natural-language search. The right pairing if face DB matching is the centre of your project.
Compatible Mounts & Accessories
The DeepinView G2 dome can be wall, pendant, pole, corner or in-ceiling mounted. Pick the geometry that suits the install — most Australian commercial jobs use the standard wall or pendant mount, with pole and corner brackets reserved for perimeter overwatch.
Wall Mount
A Hikvision wall-mount bracket rated for the 970 g G2 DeepinView dome, for façade, column or building-wall installs looking outward across a perimeter or approach.
Pendant / Ceiling Mount
A pendant mount for suspending the camera from horizontal surfaces — eave, ceiling, carport gantry or hotel-lobby soffit. It is the usual choice for over-the-door face-capture installs where the camera looks down on people entering.
Pole & Corner Mounts
Pole-mount brackets handle street poles, gate columns and fence posts. Corner-mount brackets set the camera on a building corner so it overlooks two perimeter zones at once.
microSD Card for Local Storage
microSD / SDHC / SDXC is supported for edge recording during network outages, and ANR (Auto Network Replenishment) back-fills the NVR automatically once the link returns. Larger guaranteed-onboard retention is what the /1T variant is for.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is DeepinView different from AcuSense?
AcuSense, found on Pro Series and Value Series cameras, is the filtering AI: it sorts motion into human, vehicle or other and only triggers on targets that matter. DeepinView is the recognition AI, layering on face capture, face comparison against a watchlist, ShotN high-speed motion, HEOP open-platform third-party apps and ANPR (on the dedicated ANPR-suffix variants). DeepinView includes everything AcuSense filters, and considerably more.
Why the IZS and not the IZHSY or /1T?
The IZS provides the complete DeepinView G2 imaging chain and AI feature set without the cost of niche add-ons. -H (heater) only matters for alpine or sub-zero installs, which are rare in Australia. -Y (NEMA 4X anti-corrosion) is aimed at coastal sites within ~2 km of the shoreline. /1T (built-in 1 TB SSD) suits sites requiring guaranteed on-camera local recording independent of the network.
Can I install this within 2 km of the coast?
The IZS variant does not include the NEMA 4X anti-corrosion housing. Genuinely coastal Australian installs — Sydney Harbour, Wollongong, Newcastle, Gold Coast, Perth waterfront and similar — call for the IZHSY variant, which adds anti-corrosion. Alternatively, mount the IZS well under cover (eave, carport, sheltered porch) so it never sees direct salt spray.
Does it support face recognition out of the box?
Yes — 120 simultaneous faces detected, 40 captures per frame, 10 best uploads per second, compared against 10 libraries of 30,000 faces each (150,000 total) held in encrypted on-camera storage. The face DB is set up on the camera itself through iVMS-4200 or HikCentral Pro, with no separate face server needed.
What is HEOP and do I need it?
HEOP stands for Hikvision Embedded Open Platform, which allows Hikvision technology partners to deploy custom AI applications directly on the camera. Most buyers never install a HEOP app, but having the platform available matters if queue analytics, dwell-time measurement, custom retail conversion tracking or industrial safety monitoring with a vendor's specific app is on the roadmap. Handy future-proofing.
What power supply do I need?
You have three choices: PoE 802.3at Class 4 (15.2 W) from any Hikvision NVR PoE port, 12 VDC (15.3 W) from a dedicated supply, or 24 VAC (13.7 W) from existing AC infrastructure. PoE+ makes for the tidiest install — a single Cat 6 cable back to the NVR.
How does ShotN motion capture work?
ShotN is Hikvision's high-frame-rate motion technology, capturing fast-moving vehicles, people, mining trucks, sport and the like clearly in single frames at 4 MP @ 60 fps or 2 MP @ 120 fps, without the smearing 30 fps cameras produce. It earns its keep on vehicle gate identification, courier delivery records, dock truck movements and any site where targets regularly move faster than walking pace.
Will it work with my existing Hikvision NVR?
Yes — ONVIF Profile S / G / T together with Hikvision ISAPI lets it stream to any modern Hikvision NVR. That said, surfacing face capture, face comparison and AI metadata in NVR search requires an AcuSeek (VPro) or DeepinMind NVR. Standard M-Series NVRs record the stream but do not index DeepinView AI metadata.
