TP-Link VIGI C540 — 4MP Outdoor Full-Colour Pan Tilt Network Camera

The VIGI C540 covers what would normally take two or three fixed cameras: a motorised head pans through 355° and tilts from -15° to 65°, sweeping a yard, car park or forecourt from a single mounting point. The 4MP (2560×1440) sensor on a 1/3" progressive-scan CMOS records in full colour at night under its spotlight LEDs, and on-camera detection covers human classification, motion, area intrusion, line-crossing and tampering. It is properly built for Australian conditions too — IP66 weather sealing and an operating range of -30°C to 60°C — and runs over a single PoE cable or 12V DC, drawing a maximum of 12W.

Core Technology

• Near-full-circle coverage — 355° of pan and 80° of tilt travel let one camera patrol an area that fixed units would need several mounting points to match.
• Full-colour night vision — Spotlight LEDs keep the 4MP image in colour after dark, so vehicle and clothing colours end up in the recording, not lost to grayscale.
• Five detection types — Human classification plus motion, area intrusion, line-crossing and tamper detection mean alerts arrive for events, not for noise.
• Built for the weather — An IP66 rating and -30°C to 60°C operating range handle rain, dust and summer sun on exposed outdoor mounts.
• Single-cable PoE install — 802.3af PoE carries power and data down one run of Cat5e/6 (12V DC also supported), drawing no more than 12W.
• Efficient recording — H.265+ compression and a microSD slot taking cards up to 256GB give local storage headroom, alongside VIGI NVR recording, with a built-in mic capturing audio.
