Eight Relays and Eight Supervised Inputs on the Network

The AXIS A9188 puts eight Form C relays and eight configurable I/O channels onto the network, so events anywhere in a system can drive real-world outputs. Its supervised inputs are the notable capability: they detect a cut or shorted cable rather than simply reading open or closed, which is what an input protecting something valuable has to do.

• Supervised inputs — Four-state supervision across 0–12V distinguishes a genuine open circuit from a cut or shorted cable — a plain input reads a snipped wire as 'all clear'.
• Eight Form C relays — NO/NC contacts rated to 1A at 48V DC, for driving locks, barriers, sirens, lighting and gates.
• Network controlled — Events from cameras, analytics or access control trigger physical outputs anywhere the network reaches, without dedicated control cabling.
• Dedicated tamper input — A separate input for external tamper contacts on the enclosure or the devices it serves.
• Properly secured — Password protection, IP filtering, HTTPS and IEEE 802.1X, over IPv4 and IPv6 — appropriate for a device that can physically open doors.

Where It Fits

For integrating a security system with the physical world: camera analytics triggering a gate, an alarm driving lighting, access events switching plant. The supervised inputs make it suitable for high-security applications where cable integrity has to be monitored.
